About Greg
Dr. Greg Deloach, joined the ministerial team of First Baptist Church of Augusta as the Senior Pastor in the Fall of 2005. Previously he served as the Senior Pastor of First Baptist Marietta. He was born and raised in Eatonton, Georgia, the son of a dairy farmer. Greg is a graduate of Shorter College, in Rome, Georgia and received the Master of Divinity degree from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Greg completed his Doctor of Ministry at Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, Georgia in Old Testament Theology with Dr. Walter Brueggemann serving as his advisor and first reader. In addition he has studied at the Art Institute of Atlanta, The University of the South in Sewanee, TN, and has done continuing education work in Bowen’s Family Systems Theory and The Pastor’s School at Furman University. Greg participated as an invited delegate to the Oxford Round Table, held annually at the University of Oxford.Greg’s previous pastorates include: Unity Baptist in Summerville, GA; West Maple Street Baptist in Jeffersonville, IN; Mansfield Baptist in Mansfield, GA and First Baptist Chickamauga in Chickamauga, GA.His hobbies include painting, running, hiking, camping, kayaking and most anything else that involves the outdoors, as well as reading and studying art.The most important accomplishment in Greg’s life, however, is his marriage to Amy Arrington, formerly of Milledgeville, GA and that he is the father of two sons, Clark and Aaron.
